If a >=20MB app install needs to be done through WiFi, why a 500-6XXMB system update can be done through 3G?
I don't think so. Most likely it will be WiFi-only.
3G or 4G- my ISP would thank me for all the bandwidth $, but at least freedom from the umbilical cord would be great, thanks android for forcing apple making our iToys better

I have better things to do than rehash a situation that I have no control over. Especially a situation that gets rehashed on a biweekly basis by generally the same individuals.
Still, four options await:
complain; then buy a PC
complain; but wait for what-ever-it-is-that-your-waiting-for
don't complain; then buy a PC
don't complain; and wait for what-ever-it-is-that-your-waiting-for
In the mean time, I suggest that we all prepare ourselves for the reality of faster machines by mastering all of the software that we already have in our toolboxes.

So buy the full version outright and get data plans with no caps. That's the beauty of a free market - you get to decide what you want and if the cost is worth it.
True about the subscription model.
Not so much about the data caps. There's no choice with many service providers. AT&T's data plan with the iPad for one example.
More to the point, I think it's just Full of Win mentioning that it's not a very ideal solution for those in Adobe's demographic. Which is a point we can discuss. I personally feel they've got it right, but I doubt there will be any substantial market for renting the full on suites when buying them outright ends up being a cheaper/more convenient option.

Why all the focus on Bach in this thread?
Beatles>Jesus>Beethoven>[insert 40 or 50 names here]
>Bach
I think there was a quote from Mozart, who obviously didn't know the Beatles, who didn't rank Jesus very high as a composer, but who put Bach ahead of Beethoven.

I would much rather have the rumored 2048x1536 display...If 3D is an added bonus to the res bump, then no harm done...I would just have to "dial" it down (if similar to 3DS). Ive got 20:10 vision and 3D makes me naucious after 10min of viewing:o
If course, I'm also the guy who cant read in cars without feeling sick:o

For those that are unfamiliar with Wal-Marts business practices I recommend you watch Frontline's Is Wal-Mart Good For America? (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/walmart/)
It's a great documentary. You can watch it online for free using RealPlayer.

No more than sucking on someone's tongue. :)

you can classify movies as tv shows and music videos now
apple-I will bring up information and then go video and you can choose what you want the file is
I noticed this as well. Very nice to see it working without having to use Lostify (which never worked for me under iTunes 6).

If apple does this right, it would be awesome. A screen similar to the sony ereader for reading and widescreen for movies.Yeah this would be a killer application and open up a whole new world of remote reading. Imagine having a whole ton of books including illustrations and graphics in that little iPod Video. Wow.

Uh... why? You would put your country in our economic tailspin of disaster to have a bigger military for the off-chance Russia invades? :D
He has more to worry about the US invading Canada for the oil than Russia invading. :D

Oh ya... he's something cheesie... this has been on my mind for a while. In january, Steve demoed GarageBand and showed how to make PodCast. He did that fake podcast and said 'Hi this is steve, and this is my Super secret apple PodCast' then he proceded to make jokes about the next iPod... he said the next iPod coming out would have a 10 inch screen and weigh 8 pounds.
Well... Tuesday is 8/10
Remember 2 years ago when Jobs demoed Spotlight... he searched for 'Paris' then searched for iMac. Sure enough... the iMac G5 was released at Paris.
I just thought that was interesting.

Maybe Steve will introduce the full version? "Boom" here's the new Final Cut Studio.
so what do the experts say to that? Does it mean a step up, down or a side-step on the professional–consumer scale?
Final Cut Pro is already professional. New version is even better.

Due to the high bandwidth requirement, it seems Apple needs to negotiate deals with individual carriers to allow such a system to take place.
Great. This means iPhone in the US will probably be carrier-locked forEVER. :( As much as I like OTA updates, I rather have iPhones to be independent from the US carriers first.

Apple restricts use of technologies required by products like Flash Player. Until Apple eliminates these restrictions, Adobe cannot provide Flash Player for the iPhone or iPod Touch.
People don't care about Flash Player itself, they just want the ability to play video in the browser, which the iPhone is perfectly capable of doing. So instead of lobbying Apple for Flash support we should be lobbying web developers for video tag support.

I am not skeptical, that implies doubt. Road apples have a distinct smell, my lack of belief is the opposite of a shortcoming. My "cynicism" is based on observation and experience. I know what to expect from most religious people, as far as the context of their theology pertains to me or my interactions with them. These are not personal issues that require any kind of therapy.
This is why we have a problem. Both of us think the other's view is faulty. The unbeliever, however, would be ok with leaving the believer alone, except, in too many cases, the believer feels a need (or is directed by doctrine) to change the unbeliever's mind.
I hear where you are coming from, but let me clarify one thing, at least for me personally. I don't think your lack of belief is a "shortcoming" or that you require therapy. My couch comment was an attempt at humor (hence the wink).
As I said above, free will is a foundational truth that can't be overlooked. God has given you the ability to reject him and you are simply exercising that choice, it's not a flaw in your character. Thus, I feel no burden to "save" you as I don't have the power to do so and ultimately it's not my choice anyway. I'm called to live my life in accordance with my relationship with God, to give an answer for my faith, and to serve others. I don't have the power to change you, nor do I want that responsibility.

There's no doubt Apple would pull some kind of neat marketing campaign to announce this deal to the world (assuming it goes through). The people questioning the value of that don't understand how iconic The Beatles are.
Heck, even if not a single person downloads a Beatles track from the iTunes store, the fact that they're finally online, the media exposure that will produce (I've already seen several stories on it in the local news) and the fact that it could lead to things liked branded iPods make it worthwhile to promote in a marketing blitz.
I agree with those that say "Come Together" isn't the right choice. "Revolution" would have been great, but as far as I'm concerned, Nike *owns* that track after their incredible use of it in the 80s (and I'm not a Nike fan!).
I could see them being very coy and using a non-mainstream track such as "Tomorrow Never Knows" or something like that...
