I think there should be a Movie about his life...
That kid who played Eduardo Saverin in "The Social Network" should play Steve Jobs in his early days

Or Ashton Kutcher

I enjoy books on business icons and this will be a must read. One of my favorite leadership books is Creating Magic by Lee Cockerell, EVP Disney Operations.

Wow, I love this! I happen to have the late 2008 MBP, and I happen to find 4 GB or RAM to not be enough for Photoshop (Photoshop is always hungry). Amazing news.

Does the Mac Pro firmware update solves the issue with the Mac Pro + x1900XT + ACD 23" with Bootcamp?

Wow, notice at 45 seconds, the iPad glass has been shattered and the ipad is severely bent, but it's still working!
I'm impressed that Apple put this together so well that it was still working after being bent to a 45 degree angle. As for those whining about this, come on. Its good promo for the blenders, for Apple and it keeps us all in reality check. Things are just things.
The comment above in which you say "no wonder the economy is bad." Apple made hundreds of dollars just to have this guy blend it. How is that bad for the economy?

Obviously not.
The point is, Apple doesn't need to release the iPhone 5 yet. They think can keep wooing us with a third iteration of the iPhone 4.
Yeah, I think they knew from the first day of launching the iPhone 4 that there was no way they would be able to launch the 5 on time so they purposely held back on the white one to keep interest in the 4 while we have to wait longer.
They planned it this way

That's a bit disingenuous. Yes there are editors who use FCP. And yes many Avid editors also have an FCP license on their laptop or home computer as well. Why not, it's cheap and can use third party hardware.
When you compare actual employed editors who work in Film and Television, Avid is still king. Apple skews the numbers by comparing the amount of software sold, but it's better to look at the projects completed and see what tools were used.
The question is whether this new release and their strategy is going to continue to draw working editors away from Avid or just continue to be a great prosumer video editing tool that has gotten easier to use.
You can't evaluate the product based on an Apple pitch if you rely on your editing software for a living. How do you know it kicks out and accurate EDL? How do you know if it still kicks out solid OMF files to your sound designer?
Avid, Final Cut, Premiere, they are all just tools and you have to use the right tool for the job.
Avid is for mac as well, in fact it used to be mac only. CS5 is also for mac, the only major editing programs that aren't for mac are Sony Vegas and Grass Valley Edius, which don't have a major market share. So a 49% figure is probobaly accurate if you include the people running Avid and Adobe on Macs.

In some cases, yes.
Which ones? Do tell. Are non-Muslims not allowed to drink alcohol? Are non-Muslims forced to perform obeisance five times a day?
Why should you know? You'd have to ask her, not that it's any of your business. Who knows if "the male" in Western cultures actually wants to wear a suit and tie?
Are you arguing for argument's sake? I don't know what you are getting at here...

Magnetic ... glass isn't magnetic ... only iron, nickle, cobalt are magnetic. Your suggestions are even possible ... learn physics before you suggest crazy ideas like this.
Calm down, no need to be rude, especially given that the guy was right.
The glass panel is held on by magnets - I've probably taken apart 50 iMacs so I would have an idea.
The glass panel has a number of metal pins on metal flanges, glued on around its circumference. The aluminium front housing has holes for these pins with magnets on either side. The magnets on the housing attract the metal pins on the glass panel and keep everything together.
If you don't believe me, find something ferrous in your house and wave it around the edge of an iMac's glass panel, you'll notice it get attracted to the 10 or so magnets hidden behind.
What the guy is suggesting is possible, just very unlikely to happen because the bare LCD is so fragile.

I am looking forward to seeing FCPX for real. But premiere IS awesome.
Unless you are concerned about audio. The last project I did in premiere, the audio got jumbled up with drop-outs on export and I had to reedit in FinalCut because I couldn't figure out why is was doing that. But, I do like Premiere interface and edit tools better than FinalCuts ancient ones. Really looking forward to FCX, but still considering switching to AVID full-time for the known reliability factor.

No, it's called Holophonic sound. You have 2 ears, and with headphones you can reproduce 3d sound using holophonics.
Technically you need 3 speakers to produce 3d sound. Manufacures claim they can do it with 2 but they don't. You need a center channel to balance the sides.

Hang on there... this is an English sports team we're talking about here, don't forget. Surely there's some way we can still blow it? ;) :p
I think we're safe - I'm leaving the office thinking that anyway. Hopefully the result won't change in the next hour.
Well played Aussies but the best team has wo... is winning!

This looks like a very real possibility. I've got three main questions.
1. How on earth can I build a case like that, or what options exist for building a case like this?
2. What type of software is available to run something like this, assuming I have a working knowledge of Linux (GUI Versions)?
3. What are the pros/cons of a setup like this compared to just getting a storage array and connecting it to a Mac Pro considering the fact that I want to be able to pull data from this remotely.
...And doesn't 4GB of ram seem like too little?
Does not include labor and support costs.
Custom built case will be more expensive for 1 copy. Diagram is included on that page.

Makes the New Core 2 Macs All The More Attractive. Closer Rosetta brings PPC apps to par with UB apps, the easier this transition will be for everyone to make sooner than later. :)

Next time someone accuses you of something, ask what evidence they have to support the claim. If there is none, just ignore them and continue what you were doing. Then later if this IT person persists just ask if he likes his current job or would like to find one somewhere else. That should do the trick.

This isn't like iTunes or those other similar services. Once you buy something on Steam, unless you lose your account somehow then you have that game forever. You can download it on as many computers as you like.
It's the bee's knees of digital distribution.
To all those asking if the game will run on your system; I play on medium settings on a 5 year old iMac and I'm getting good (30+ fps) performance under Windows. It's very well built.

I just noticed that if you open the stream in your browser and slect the drop down menu, there's a pro option (which I don't have) to "Save as quicktime movie". Does that work for anyone with pro, or will it just save a link to the stream on your computer?
The latter in this case unfortunately.
QuickTime Pro usually gives you the option to download video content of the web, but these keynote streams are made in such a way that you can't save the entire movie. You download a part of it (cache), then you play that part, and after playing it, the cache gets deleted. And then the next part, and the next.... and so on.
To download the enitre movie stream, you need somekind of app that let's you save the cache.
I don't know why Apple doesn't podcast it, or make it downloadable..... but they are really doing their best to prevent it being downloaded.
IIRC not one Steve-note was made available by Apple. There are "alternative sources" to get them, but nothing legal....

Bearing in mind netflix isn't available in the UK, I'd sign up to an apple alternative. May even get an ATV2 if this goes live...
