If this is indeed the new iCal i will be happy, just open up the old ical next to that picture then you will see what i mean.
Other than the movement of the search, day/week/month buttons and a move from the brushed metal to a more even grey I cant really see any differences....I am however basing this off screenshots on the Apple site as I dont have my MBP here atm.

The don't want to work, but can work, went a little far, but please read, it's interesting. I was getting more to the point of welfare dependancy. Anyhow, it's best I don't reply, I havent' slept since my night shift, around 27 hours now. So best not for me to try and debate things.
Where in that "article" does it say 800000 people on IB can work but won't work.(insinuation and slurs certainly facts other than 800000 have been on IB for a decade there are none,you do realise that large numbers of people have long term illnesses?)

But seeing as your from Norway, who is also on the good end of that chart, what are your thoughts on the possibility of mass looting there I wonder?
Most people wouldn't steal food here, but if violent hoarding can be considered 'looting', then I would say the possibility is high under similar circumstances. By 'violent hoarding' I mean disrespecting one-per-customer policies and cutting in lines whilst armed with a shotgun. People here are easily freaked out by the crisis-loving media (don't get me started about the swine flu in 2009), and we have very liberal laws on firearms compared to the rest of Europe.

If Apple thought this product was actually a big leap, they wouldn't have to announce it in front of a group of fans. I would have like to see them demo the software at the editors guild or have some editors who have used it.
Im sure it will be a great consumer product, but so far there is nothing to say that it is revolutionary or that it's even a good choice for content creation.

Really, why do people think that a GPU helps in still photo editing, music editing, or even video editing in non-GPU-enabled programs? (Which includes iMovie, Final Cut Express, and even Final Cut Pro.) The only major media apps that use the GPU are Aperture (which uses it solely for drawing to the screen, not for applying effects,) Motion, and Shake. And even Aperture WORKS on integrated-graphics just fine, it just isn't as smooth. Same with Shake. The no-GPU-no-use limit on Final Cut Studio is artificial, and based solely on the GMA950's inability to run Motion, which is part of the Final Cut Studio.Yes, you're right but I was referring to Spazzleberry's worry about buying a MacBook Pro. He was going to buy one but was worried that it wouldn't have a dedicated GPU. About FCE and FCP, I'm almost certain that LiveType also uses the GPU-card for rendering. I can even hear the card working.

That would be such absolute BS but it wouldn't surprise me at all. "Oh, you want to be able to use more RAM in your Mac? Well that wasn't advertised when we sold it to you, so in order to be able to do that you'll need to hand over $1".
GAA is a mutherfu....bberinksy! I wonder if Apple says the previous 6GB cap was imposed due to a defect in design/manufacturing. The firmware update address the "memory defect" and other problems. This way with the firmware update they would be addressing the defect instead of adding a feature. Consumers keep their soda/candy money. Those 3 class action lawyers would have a field day with Apple's "covering up the defect." Just some ramblings.

You guys are clearly missing the point of this... It is not at all the same thing as the silly 3D movies, where you put on special glasses and get to see things jumping out at you...
This is a 2D image that is simulating depth and parallax perspective in real time based on your movements in the world.
What this means is that unlike any of the 3D effects you see in movies, you can actually move your head to the side and look behind things.
This is way more of a "true" 3D effect than what you get in the movies... That's more of a bass-relief... you never get to see anything that isn't already baked into the image.
With this effect, if there's something in your way, you can move to the side and see around it.
This is really awesome.

i am for the G5 too , i am just restoring modding a G5 dual core 2.3 single processor , which will then become my main computer , sure if i look on geekbench points a new mini will achieve more points , the mini will likely even be cheaper then the G5 after my modding , as i want to squeeze out every bit performance i can get , means maxing out the ram to 16gb ,a x800 GPU fit in my WD velociraptor 600gb hdd 10000rpm drive out of my iMac intel core duo , then i get one of these expansion bays (http://www.maxupgrades.com/istore/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=306) , that gives me enough storage capacity
but first i need to sort the case out as it is badly scratched.. it gets anodized in snow white, but can take a while as i get it done for free from a mate who works in a company which is anodizing motorcycle parts ...so i cant push him
the problem i have with the mini its just to small , as we all know we need backups , and that means in case of the mini adding external drives and cluttering up the desk , in my opinion a mini is only suitable for people who want to use it as htpc only ..and it still comes as stand alone device , not even keyboard and mouse but costs now nearly double what the mini did cost initially in ignoring that everything got cheaper, and offering only onboard graphics and the now already old core2 duo processor in the times of i3 .i5 and i7

Rosetta improvements:
I cannot believe how well Rosetta handles Photoshop and Illustrator CS2 on these new Core 2 Duos. My buddy brought his new 20" iMac over Sunday night so I could show him some little maintance tips and so I could show him how to partition the drive out. (His first Mac ever! I was so proud of him, almost like seeing your son grow up and become a man:D ) We put his Adobe CS1 on and tried it out.... Holy Cow his CS1 was almost as fast as my CS2 on my Dual Core 2.0 GHz PM G5!!!! This has come a looooong way in such a short time period. Also, I have tried out the Quad MacPros at the Apple Store with Photoshop and they run just as fast as my PM G5. I can't wait to see what happens when Adobe CS3 is UB.
As for Office....... what in the hell are people bitching about the Rosetta performance for???? It's Office people. I have not noticed hardly ANY difference in running Word and Excel on my MacBook compared to the PM G5.
Maybe I'm not concidered a "power Office user", but it runs as I would expect a Microsoft app to run.

I don't think Apple will push the release up at all. Apple never follows the intentions of others, if they did the 8 Core Mac Pro would be out already.
But I already know what is going to happen, Vista will come out with it's iLife-clone and reviews will rave about how great these new features are and we, who have been using iLife apps for over 5 years will be relegated to a footnote in the news pieces.
I'm glad that the "Get a Mac" ads have been out for the last year. It gives us some credit in the world. I love the Office commercial, how the PC is surprised that we can run Office. That is soooooo true in the business world. No one realizes that Office was actually created and ran on a Mac years before Windows even came out.

It's a book about fiscal responsibility and the traits of those that have it and the traits of those that don't. 95% of millionaires in the U.S. don't drive luxury cars. They have more sense than that. It's the wannabees and people that place ego above fiscal responsibility that spend more than they have to on an automobile.
Simple as that. Don't like it, take it up with the PhD's that researched and wrote the book. Sorry to call you out on why exactly you pulled the trigger on your ill-advised purchase. I'm not coming on here saying I'm perfect. I have my flaws too. It's just that one of them isn't the overpowering desire to impress others with my material goods at all costs.
