What has me curious is why the area where the calendar names appear is blurred. Seeing the "flippy triangle" makes me think that iCal will support calendar groups. Some uses for groups that I can see are:
1 - Eliminate clutter by only showing the calendars in that group when it is selected.
2 - they can be used as a source of calendars. For instance, you might create a group called "Work" with the source being an exchange server so anyone's calendar that you have rights to see will appear under the group.
3 - Improve backups, syncing, or sharing.
This functionality exists in the current iCal

Glad Strauss made a good century today, it's the first time he's actually played well in these tests. Anyway, no college tomorrow, so I've got my whole day sussed.

apart, of course, from the century at Old Trafford.

Has anyone else noticed its resemblance to the Remote/FM Radio for the 5G iPod...
Yes. I was in the airport and saw a guy walk by and I was about to stop him and yell "How the hell did you get the new iPod Shuffle already?!?!" but then I noticed the extra wire comming out of the bottom of it and going into his bag. Oh yeah, it's a remote. :o

I like this law. We should bring it over here to the US
This would never get beyond the First Amendment, even with justices as conservative as Scalia. And rightly so. Clothing is a very basic way to express speech and exercise a religion.
And that's a predominantly muslim country so go figure. Is it wrong for them to ban it too or is it just wrong for france because they're not predominantly muslim?
Turkey passed it's law with a lot more due process and equal protection relative to France. The people who are most affected by this law have a lot less voting power than those whose racist and xenophobic ideology carried this travesty forward.
There is also a big difference between one nation trying to overcome it's history with misogyny and another trying to harshly impose a set of values on certain citizens.
The only part of the law that has any worth is the provision that overbearing men can be held accountable. Even that wreaks of paternalism, but at least it's a first attempt at addressing the root problem rather than just an opening salvo in a new culture war.

Why did you have to remind me?
Because you were becoming irrationally exuberant - I thought that you needed some balance ;) .
I also wonder about this Intel diagram:
http://www.geekwithlaptop.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/intel-thunderbolt-3.jpg(click to enlarge)
If this applies to the Imac TBolt ports, then the two TBolt ports in fact share bandwidth from the single PCIe x4 connection. The combined max throughput of the two ports would be no better than that of a single TBolt port.
Another moot point, though, since no TBolt devices can be purchased.

Well, on a 256kbps stream (not sure if the music would get re-encoded or if the service would allow you to select bitrate) you would use about 112.5 MB per hour of streaming. If you had a 30 minute commute each way to work, you are looking at (roughly) going over your allowance in a month (AT&T USA) without any other data usage. (60 mins x 20 days = 2,250MB ).
I'm not sure this is sustainable unless the telecom providers stop putting small data caps on usage...
You get 2GB bandwidth allowance? Most tarrifs in the UK are capped at 500MB. :(

Personally I'm not too interested in this as my music collection isn't that large and I add new songs too far apart to make syncing an hassle. Don't have to worry about being connected to the internet either to listen. I could see it being useful for those who have a huge music collections though.

I will upgrade if the bottom line of the new generation will outperform the iMac of the top line of the series I have (mid 2010).
Yes, upgrading for anyone with a 2010 makes little sense. You, however, you listed computers all the way back to 2007.

Look at the British empire, once the most powerful empire in the world. Now I'm a second class citizen in my own country, where my government doesn't care about us, and we are laughed at by the rest of the world. Welcome to England your royal highness.
It's no longer your country. :(

Welcome to Macrumors, it is like this all the time. Some weeks are worse then others. You just get used to it!

I work for UCSD's Resnet department and I have also noticed a sharp incline of mac users this year. A little under half the support calls/appointments I get now are for macs (which says something about their ability to "just work").
Or perhaps that the majority of 'instructions' for how to connect to other systems/networks are written for Windows so they need translating?
My cousin once called me because she was desperately trying to follow some IT-sent instructions for how to get her Mac on the network. Unfortunately they were for Windows so she was having little success... even more sadly, the Mac was pretty much there and just needed the password entered. She'd wasted an hour attempting to do the configuration that her Mac had already automatically done for her...

So, some crazy bitch climbs on the hood of your car to keep you from leaving and you just have to put up with that?
I'm sorry, I'm not saying the guy should get a free pass, but at some point her own idiocy has to bear some of the blame for this.
You can't be serious.

I can see carbon fiber being used on iOS devices. Not sure about Macs, as it would require so much more material. Apple would have to make sure their process is as efficient as their current unibody design. But it would definitely be a welcome change. Especially on iPhone, where you can't drop the thing more than three feet without the glass shattering. Apple could use iPhone and/or iPad as a test bed for bringing this technology to their other products. Perhaps even the Macbook Air to follow. Starting on the devices where the weight matters a lot more, as well as strength.
I believe this is an area where Apple could separate themselves even more from the rest of the industry. Where are the super strong smartphones? The waterproof ones? The phones of the future with month-long batteries? I feel like this will be a primary focus over the next decade after the speed increases become negligent. Phones that are environmentally friendly, practically indestructible, that hardly ever have to be recharged. Brilliant.

Next, tongue forking.
seen it done, not pleasant
i have seven peircings now, plan on probably two more, considering a tenth.
they are fun, really dont hurt, and they are removable if you end up not liking them in the end.
but they aren't for everyone, and i doubt that this will be 'just a phase' for me, as i can see keeping some of these for quite some time, if not for the rest of my life.

I think we can all agree that Nokia's meat and potatoes has been in dumb phones. They are present in the smart phone market, but this merger if you will with Windows is going to be their attempt to really recreate themselves in a market they were not very successful in.
I don't think we can agree that. Nokia practically invented the smartphone with the Communicator line starting in 1996. Between Symbian and the Communicators, not sure how you can make that statement.
