It's both sad and sickening to see how many Apple fanboys are elitists who only want Apple products to be sold at upscale stores. Such fanboys want Apple products to be regarded as high-end fashion accessories and status symbols. What a shame that Apple has such a feminized culture associated with it. I miss the days when Apple products were regarded as tools for accomplishing tasks.

In a way it's rather ironic. When myspace was huge. Some people were defecting to facebook because of all the problems. Myspace allowed you to do and post almost anything. Custom backgrounds, flash, all kinds of HTML. Spam spam spam and more. The result? Slow, clunky pages. Pages that crashed even the toughest browsers and computer with lots of RAM. Phishing SPAM and viruses via messages and pages. Soft core porn and more.
Go to Facebook and you needed to be approved just to join (essentially). You needed a certain email address. Your page can't have graphics and flash. Your name can't be "$h@wn of da d3@d" or whatever. It's similar to an iphone in that way.

On a more ON TOPIC note, I had a pretty awesome moment last night in a game of Invasion. It was tied 2-2, but if we could cap the Data Core, we would win. My teammate and I went back and grabbed the Falcon, and proceeded to just TEAR IT UP!!! We were down a man after someone quit, but even then, we managed to win. It was a pretty awesome finish. I made a film clip of it....

So how many people here have actually gone up to a girl youve never met and asked if she wants to share your sweaty earbuds? My guess is nobody, because its creepy as hell, its like holding hands with someone you just met that is neither your friend nor your date. It was just a PR response to a competitors product, I doubt jobs was being serious thinking people with ipods actually do stuff like that on a regular basis.
The Zune isnt really a way to pick up chicks either, I think it was more designed for friends to share music. Even having the debate is pretty pointless, its all marketting mumbo jumbo. Plus last time I checked you can share headphones with a Zune too.

First off, I don't think there will be an iPhone with LTE until 2012. The reason being is that the battery life will suck and there will not be enough coverage for most people.
Second, would you rather have an iPhone 4 or a new LTE iPhone with crappy battery life? I'll take the iPhone 4 all day long.

It's also a great way of illustrating how Apple is missing the boat entirely. They have made no such moves at the university (or even lower education) level. They have no plan (or so it seems) for the time when data unity is going to becom an essential element of the computing environement. They are making a wonderful move with embracing open standards, but they need to drive enterprise-level development. They need to sell solutions to the enterprises now, and make sure their technology is implemented, instead of trying to retrofit Mac-compatibility into an implemented solution. By then it will be too late, and the Mac platform will become obsolete.

haha...yeah, it is quite a bit of space. Left (21" HP f2105) and top middle (30" HP LP3065) are connected to a desktop PC that I use for work. I work from home and mess with a lot of spreadsheets and querying data so it's helpful having all the space to move stuff around. The vertical screen (24" HP2408h) is connected to my MBP via mini port to HDMI that I use mostly for personal use. The sad thing is I have a 3 or 4 more 21" screens in the closet. If I had the desk space I would hook them all up... :D

I'd take photos with an iPad. Those naysayers are ridiculous. Sure, it's not a device I'd use for frivolous photography on the fly, but it would be fine for capturing photos and videos. The iPad is still the best all-in-one video/photo/editor because of screen size.
A good photographer can take brilliant photographs with a disposible camera, a bad photographer will still take rubbish photographs with a top end DSLR. :)
This is the most simplistic statement.
A crap camera will never take a great picture, despite the hands it is in. It might take something vaguely enigmatic on some level, but with bad lens, inability to capture colors, or faulty mechanics/electronic, it will be nothing more than a crippling piece of equipment.
A good photographer can frame, layer, focus the subject, and compose well. Yes, you don't need a "good" camera for those qualities, but you need a well-creafted camera to back up and improve on the photographer's skills.

I bet Adobe got sick of all the support e-mails asking them "why doesn't flash download on the iPhone?!" Previously, on Adobe's website you could get all the way up downloading the file and mobile Safari would obviously say the file isn't supported. Adobe should have done this from the beginning.

Ditto. I watch movies on my 5G when traveling, I may have to use a power adapter , but the result is not bad. Half of enjoying a movie is great sound and the Ipod gets it done. Remember when people were speculating about Apple's tablet with stylus and that stuff? No stylus and everyone loves the ipad.
Apple doesn't put out half-a** devices that are not user friendly. If they are indeed doing 3D on the next iPad, then I am pretty sure they would do it right. Apple has a history of taking stuff that other companies sorta got right and making it Apple-glorified and exceed expectations. Look at touch tech since the 90s. No one could get it right. Apple did.

Is there any kenel extention to install so I can get the hard drive temp (more important to me than the cpu) and the other stuff? Or the fan readings?
I have a stock black Macbook with some more RAM (see sig). PLease PM me if you know something for getting all the sensor readings.
